The CHME 2025 bursary scheme enabled five academics to participate in the conference, and their reflections captured the inclusive spirit and intellectual richness of the event. Dr. Annamarie Sisson (Edinburgh Napier) spoke of the bursary as a catalyst for new research ideas and professional growth. She valued the lively discussions on emerging industry trends and felt energised by the collaborative spirit. Dr. Ágnes Ibolya Pál (Budapest University of Economics and Business) described the conference as uniquely welcoming, noting that even as a newcomer, she felt immediately included.
Dr. Alicia Orea-Giner (Universidad Rey Juan Carlos) praised the interdisciplinary focus and ethical rigour of sessions on AI, labour equity, and inclusive tourism. Syahrul Zuhara (Universiti Malaya), who won the Best Doctoral Paper award, shared her appreciation for the conference’s blend of intellect and heart, as well as the encouragement she received from peers. Dr. Juliane Thieme (University of Greenwich) highlighted the value of finally meeting long-time online collaborators in person and expressed gratitude for the support offered to Early Career Researchers.
