This year’s CHME Fellowships were awarded to two remarkable figures in hospitality education: Professor Anita Eves and Dr. Sarah Rawlinson. Professor Eves, with over three decades at the University of Surrey, reflected on a career filled with purpose, student success, and meaningful institutional impact. She highlighted the satisfaction of mentoring students through personal and academic challenges, and the opportunity to shape fair and inclusive university policies. Receiving her Fellowship among friends and colleagues at the gala dinner was, in her words, a “great pleasure and honour.”
Dr. Sarah Rawlinson echoed this, reflecting on a career built around equipping students with the academic and practical tools needed to thrive in hospitality. A long-time champion of applied learning, she recounted the joy and challenge of hosting the CHME Conference at the University of Derby in 2017—a proud moment that brought her institution into closer dialogue with the broader academic community. She credited her Fellowship to the hard work and vision of her team and encouraged other institutions to step up and host future CHME events, calling the experience transformative and deeply rewarding.
